Donors to
the Community Foundation are as diverse as the services we
provide. Anyone can give anytime and in any amount. Individuals,
families, associations, corporations, private foundations,
charitable trusts, and others can donate knowing the funds will
be professionally managed.

Unrestricted Funds allow the
donor charitable giving to have the greatest possible impact now
and in the future. The Community Foundation allocates the gift
from this fund to a variety of community programs and services,
giving it the most flexibility in responding to emerging needs
and opportunities in the community.
|
|
Restricted Funds
are established to benefit one or more specific charitable
organizations. Programs with similar purposes are identified to
fulfill the donor's original intent if the designated
organization ceases to exist. Restricted funds include donated
resources that are restricted to a specific use by the donor.

|
Fields of Interest
Funds. The donor may restrict his or her
contributions to one or more fields of interest such as
education, youth, the elderly, health, or the arts. These funds
are very broad in scope yet encompass many of the needs and
strengths of the community.

|
Donor Advised Funds
are excellent vehicles for donors who wish to participate
actively in the grant making process. In establishing a donor
advised fund, the donor retains the right to serve as an
advisor, making grant recommendations for consideration by the
board of directors. A donor advised fund provides an opportunity
for families to participate together in the tradition of
philanthropy. The advised fund is especially useful for donors
who would benefit from taking a larger, single deduction for one
year and recommend distributions over the next several years.

Agency Endowment Funds
are created for the benefit of private charitable organizations
that prefer to establish an endowment fund within the Community
Foundation rather than create and manage such a fund themselves. |
