Margie is a California native, born in Pasadena in
1943. She moved to the high
desert in 1954 when her father moved his construction business to Apple
Valley. She attended area
schools from sixth grade through community college.
She received her Bachelor's Degree in Speech and
Drama from San Jose State in 1965 and general secondary teaching
credential in 1966. After
teaching two years in high school, she came to Victor Valley College.
She has been on the faculty since 1968.
She has taught a variety of speech communication courses and has
directed many theatre productions.
She earned a Master's in Counseling Education in 1983.
Concurrent with the professional and educational
pursuits, her life includes three children, Sean, Darren, and Jimmy,
husband Les, who is retired from military service and his two daughters,
Kim and Sabrina.
