High Desert Community Foundation currently holds the following funds:

General Endowment Fund

This is our one unrestricted fund.  The Grantsmanship Committee will recommend to the Board of Directors who they believe should receive the funds. The Board of Directors will determine to whom the earnings are to be paid each year.   Whomever chooses may make a donation in any amount to this fund

The following funds are restricted funds:

The Walter E. Cramer Memorial Fund (Endowment)
This fund is to eventually take care of one hundred (100) children perpetually.  At present, Compassion International has programs on Indian reservations and in the inner cities.  We are working with them so that we can have a program set up in this immediate area.

The Margaret Muir Cramer A.S.A.P. Fund
Since 1993, the foundation has been promoting a program for After School Activities and has funded 23 A.S.A.P. programs in elementary schools in Hesperia and Apple Valley, creating 23 new jobs.  It is Stream's goal to fund these programs throughout the High Desert Communities.  The After School Activity Programs are successful and support the healthful development of children through positive educational and recreational experiences.  Streams in the Desert convenes with the schools, the Recreation & Park Districts, and volunteers. Streams provides the initial funding, which makes it all possible. Once the program is established, it is self-supporting.  A fee of $2.00 per day per child is charged.  No child is denied the program as scholarships are available.  Each program accommodates 25 to 30 children and encourages the community to become proactive to break the cycle of juvenile crime.  Children are involved in arts/crafts, reading/being read to, sports/recreation, and homework.  It is a win-win situation for all!

The P.R.I.D.E. Fund
The mission is to bring business, schools and Town of Apple Valley officials, police, firemen, teachers and other volunteers together to make Apple Valley a better place to  live. One of the programs was the Red Ribbon Rally for drug education in the schools.

The Louise Stewart Memorial Scholarship Fund  (Endowment)

This is a fund for scholarships at the Victor Valley Community College.

The Yucca Loma Family Center
The mission is to teach parents how to be parents, and to help the family in many ways.  A one on one mentoring program has many volunteers from the business and professional field.

High Desert Kidney Assistance Fund
This fund is designed to provide assistance in times of financial crisis to individuals suffering from a kidney-related disorder.

Readers are Leaders Program Fund
This is a newly developed phonics program and has been funded by GTE, Select Personnel, and other businesses.  The Hesperia Unified School District will implement this program at Kingston Elementary School.

The Towle Family Fund - Donor Advised
Funds will be paid out to various charities quarterly.

Sunset Hills Children's Fund
This fund will provide scholarships to children who are orphans and have no other means towards a college education.

Horse Lovers Club Fund
This is a recreational horse club for trail rides for underprivileged children.

T.S. Muir and M.C. Muir Charitable Fund
This is a donor advised fund and will be paid out to various charities over each year.
